Dr. Tongol Addresses Georgia's Reluctance to Increase Tobacco Tax

“Conservative principles don’t support free ride for smokers”,
Dr. Jose Tongol, GASCO president and oncologist at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, addresses the state of Georgia's reluctance to increase the tobacco tax. Dr. Tongol suggests a tobacco tax increase would be a more effective way to address the budgetary shortfalls of the state as well as counteract the amount of Medicaid money spent each year treating patients for tobacco-related illnesses.
