Next month’s “Best and Promising Practices” conference will help attendees meet CoC guidelines

On Nov. 26, Georgia CORE, in partnership with the Georgia Research Alliance and American Cancer Society will host a conference, “Best and Promising Practices in Quality Cancer Care: Meeting the 2012 Commission on Cancer Standards” at the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center in midtown Atlanta. The first of its kind in Georgia, the conference is targeted to multi-disciplinary representatives of Commission on Cancer (CoC) programs throughout the state. Speakers at the conference will include Andrew K. Stewart, Sr. manager of the National Cancer Data Base, Thomas Eisenhauer, MD, FACS from the American College of Surgeons and LaMar McGinnis, MD from ACS. Break-out sessions will focus on Clinical Trials, Genetics, Survivorship, and Patient Navigation.
