The introductory meeting of the Prostate and GU Cancer Working Group was held on October 20, 2009. The meeting was sponsored by the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology and Genetech. Vasily Assikis, MD, Piedmont Hospital, Peachtree Hematology Oncology Consultants and Omer Kucuk, MD, Winship Cancer Institute are co-chairs of the Prostate and GU Cancer Working Group. The purpose of the Working Group is to develop protocol concepts for Investigator-Initiated studies that benefit patients state-wide, prioritize available prostate and GU cancer trials, discuss case presentations and expand access to prostate and GU cancer trials.
