This 4-day training prepares nurses in all aspects of breast health from the first mammogram throughout the continuum of cancer care. Participants receive the tools, knowledge and skills to immediately become effective navigators and program coordinators. This program will help individuals: prepare your center for the new Commission on Cancer standards; assess, support and educate your patients from the first mammogram throughout the continuum of care; provide patient education about breast cancer, treatment decisions, hormones, infertility and impact of treatment on sexuality; implement successful support programs for the patient and family; and plan successful community outreach programs. Instructors for the program are: Judy C. Kneece, RN, OCN, President of EduCare, Inc. and author of "Breast Cancer Treatment Handbook & Breast Cancer Support Partner Handbook" as well as Ruth O'Regan, MD, Medical Director, Emory Breast Center & Medical Oncology Professor, Emory University.
