Celebrating Survivorship: How Cancer Treatment is Changing Lives

5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

UGA Center for Continuing Education
1197 South Lumpkin Street
Athens, GA 30602
United States

Participants will learn how to define survivorship. They will be provided information about relative survival rates for cancer in general and, more specifically, blood cancers. Treatment types will be discussed including side effects of treatment and the impact on quality of life. Stages of survivorship as well as coping strategies for each stage will be discussed. Additionally, participants will hear about support resources available locally and through their cancer center as well as nationally through LLS. Following this program, we hope patients will feel more prepared to discuss survivorship issues with members of their oncology team.
